Miki Agrawal Develops Tushy, an Eco-friendly Modern Toilet.

“I love it whenever I see a problem and provide solutions,” says Miki Agrawal. Miki has constantly challenged the American culture and way of living. She started her journey by opening a gluten-free pizza restaurant, a business that had not been experienced there before. She later founded Thinx, a company that produces reusable underwear for periods and donates pads to schoolgirls in Uganda.

Miki Agrawal recently developed project Tushy, a modern bidet attached to toilets. It sources water from the wall, the same water used for brushing teeth, and cleans your butt by spraying 1 pint of water. Tushy came with its fair share of rejection. At first, consumers were skeptical about the bidet. They could not understand how water from bowls or tanks could be sprayed on their butts, but they have come to embrace it with much sensitization. Now around one million people are using the bidet.

Tushy has saved consumers from sanitization health issues. According to Miki Agrawal, wiping with toilet paper brings about yeast infections, anal itching, anal fissures, hemorrhoids, and UTIs. Tissue paper kills 15 million trees per year in America. Tushy saves 437 billion gallons of water and 253,000 bleach used to make toilet paper.

In March 2020, due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, there were shortages of tissue paper, and most people turned to Tushy. Tushy sold $1 million in sales on a single day seeing its revenue jump ten times over its projections. Sixty thousand families in India have benefited from Tushy.

Installing the bidet only costs less than $100 and is done within 10 minutes. The consumer is paid back within three months by reducing their tissue paper consumption.
